Post Using external Soundcards with a Hippotizer
Hippotizers can be used to output sound at an event, either with video or as an audio track loaded into available layers.
However even though all Hippotizer systems have onboard sound cards, it is not recommended that this output is used. Especially in events which require reliability and quality of audio signal.

When using media with audio, it is recommended that an external USB sound card is used. Most Windows XP supported sounds should work without any problems.

Once the sound card had been correctly installed in Windows XP and setup as the default audio device the Hippotizer software will automatically start outputting sound via the external soundcard.
At green-hippo we test with a number of external audio devices we recommend the following models;

EMU 0202 http://www.emu.com/products/product.asp ... duct=15186

Motu 828mkII http://www.motu.com/products/motuaudio/828mkII/

If you have a device that is not listed, test it on your Hippotizer system using the Windows XP drivers provided by the manufacturer. If you experience problems, please check with green-hippo support.
