Hi,

I'm looking to purchase a new (larger) monitor to use with my Critter (for Zookeeper control), and wondered if there were any recommendation? I'm thinking 22", but am left pondering whether to go with 1680 x 1050, or if I'd be glad of some extra space with 1920 x 1080?

I do use now, Samsung P2250, a 1920x1080 DVI screen that are 21,5 " works fine and are cheap.
And yes, a bigger area to use for the interface is so much better!

I do prefer this ones since they are cheap, can be replaced fast and easy from any retailer....

well, 1920x1080 is a bit heavy for the Critter, it works but remember that the Zookeeper is heavy!
I use 1680x1050 22" monitors, works ok, during hardcore programming I use a separate ZooKeeper with 2 pcs 1680x1050 or 2 pcs 1920x1080 monitors, but that is a different story.

A 1680x1050 22" monitor is enough for most of the jobs.
Just make sure you buy one WITH DVI and VGA input, ofcourse you can manage with VGA aswell but personally I like the imagequality out of DVI.

This latest monitor I purchased is a LG W2242T, 22" 1680x1050 and I paid 159 euros for it including VAT

Yes, I think Johan is better to make the choice, (always listen to the big man from finland )
maybe Critter is not handling the 1920x1080 so well in the long term, I have just tested
with my demo unit and find it working. As mostly we use the HD´s and there is not a problem with this.

I have find that the VGA on the HD have some issues when using 1920x1080, with DVI no problem.....
Maybe it is just this machine, but it was acting strange wuth VGA ( max res 1300 x 900 something )
