As I am informed the release of the HD-SDI cards are in a close future. This will have a low latency and are after testings seem to be a very powerful solution. Also I am informed about a DVI only card are avaible ( West Lighting Finland uses this )
Prices to be announced later

this is only for the HD?? What can you do for input on the hippocritter?
they do not have the options for extra cards. Any idea? for just standard defenition as composit maybe?

Yes, this is for the HD ( Stage) only, for a capture for the HippoCritter they are some USB grabbers that can be used
as "capture card", here in Sweden Deltaco have one the goes for about 40€ .
This one can use composit and Svideo and Nicke have been testing one and it was okey for the bucks!
Call me if you need to get one or want to test one!

I have now tested the HD-SDI card and I am very impressed, yes!
Since the card can take SDI or SDI-HD with glance and very, very good quality I can really advise the guys with quality in mind to take a closer look at this.
Some interlace edges will appear ( fast movements and so) but since it in the end be progressive result you have to live with that!

The SD signal is lightyears from the sweetspot card, this looks really good! Damn good!! The signal is as you expect from a SDI grabber card.
The price is , yes not so chep ( but what the heck, looking for quality costs!! ( you get what you pay for)

We made a test with a Digibeta HD player, sound and checking lipsync, passed, I did test with a Miranda Component > SDI from a desktop DVD player and also from a
bluray player, passed with glance ( the lipsync was on SD in my eays even not there)

One thing to remember is that the PCIe SLOT is only at the new chassi Hippos ( so the older has to stay with Sweetspot).
And it is a full PCIe card so you have to take away a memory and replace the other one with a 2 Gb to stay with same RAM power ( who was designing this motherboard???)
