Post V3.0.14 Released Public
Product Highlights on display from the current 3.0.14 release include:

VideoMapper

VideoMapper is a new component that will open up previously unseen levels of creativity in Hippotizer. This critically acclaimed (and now award winning) feature allows you to maximize your DVI driven display devices like never before. VideoMapper provides a solution for the limitations of many DVI based displays. Very few DVI screens or display devices are conscious of their location as part of a larger physical space. VideoMapper is a new component from Green hippo which allows you to position your screen elements randomly as you wish. You can even rotate sections at any angle or break screen sections apart. It takes minutes to design, and once done, Hippotizer will automatically distort any standard media so it appears correct on randomly positioned pieces. No need to prepare media. Simply play content on Hippotizer as you would normally and the system will correct it pixel accurately. Creative displays with little outlay and minimal pre-production costs. VideoMapper not only allows for user defined rotation and scaling but also allows the user to create multiple maps (up to 255) and change between them in real time.

3D Show Pre-visualisation – Light Converse

One of the most requested features is here at last. Collaborating with Light Converse we are proud to announce the full integration of Hippotizer into this stunning visualisation package. Simply connect one or more Hippotizers via Network to the visualisation PC and you can stream the output live into the virtual 3D world. Setup projectors, LED walls, do your softedge blending in real time and then pre-program your whole show with lights and video before hitting site. In a world where on-site time is more and more precious, get prepared from the comfort of your studio and then only tweak the show. Your clients will also love the fact that they will see what they will get.

New and improved HD-SDI and DVI input cards

We at Green Hippo are continuing to work with dedicated hardware manufacturers to improve the integration of capture devices that extend the usability of any media server. Integrating those products at the lowest level to provide minimum latency means that these new generation capture devices are not only more powerful, but also easier to use. Fully auto-configuring they are easy to install and great to use. Capture DVI up to 1920x1200 or HD-SDI in full flight and mix with other layers or apply any of the 100-plus effects.

Drag and drop Playlist on each layer

Do you find programming a timeline a chore when all you want to do is switch between clips? Well the playlist is your answer. Simply open the playlist editor using the box in the top left corner of the media player window and drag your clips from the media window into list. Then all you need to do is decide on the duration of each and you’re done! Ideal for playback on standalone shows such as exhibitions or permanent installations. This feature really comes into its own when used in simple mode where you can use transitions to mix between clips and images.

TextEngine

Hippotizer now includes a fully featured Text Engine. Import existing documents or make them ‘on the fly’. Either way, you have all the controls you would come to expect such as scrolling, fading, direction, font and colour! Organise your documents and recall them instantly. The quick text feature allows you to scroll in those last minute announcements. Supports pictures too!

PixelMapper support for 16 fixture (EvenLED)

We are very proud to be the first media server (at time of writing) to offer 16bit Pixel Mapping. With a wealth of 16bit LED fixtures hitting the market Hippotizer is currently the only media server that will allow you to make the most of them! Developed for the Eddie Izzard tour which ran 16bit EvenLED panels, this new version allows for smooth fades without the stepping seen in 8bit systems.

CITP

CITP is an open protocol for integration of lighting controllers, media servers and visualizers on a higher-than-control level. It makes it possible to browse a media server with thumbnail previews of content as well as effects, to use the correct effect-specific parameter names while programming and to preview output from a controller or visualiser. An alternative to our very own HMap2 protocol should your console or visualisation software not support it.

Details of which consoles have been verified by Green Hippo to follow

Here is a list of consoles and visualisers supporting this standard (taken from http://www.citp-protocol.org/files/CITPProductchart.pdf):

· Avolites-Diamond 4, Pearl Expert, Titan Controller

· ChamSys-MagicQ Controller

· Compulite-Vector Controller

· ETC-Congo Controller

· ETC-SmartSoft Controller

· Innovate Show Controls-BlueLite X1 Controller

· LightFactory Controller

· LSC-Clarity Controller

· LT-Light-Hydra, Piccolo Controller

· Martin-Maxxyz Controller

· Philips Color Kinetics-ColorPlay3 Controller

· Zero88-Frog2, LeapFrog 48/96, Orb Controller

· Capture Sweden-Capture Polar

· Cast Software-WYSIWYG Visualizer

OSC

Open Sound control is the new protocol to challenge MIDI. The name is misleading because you can use it to control many devices in many ways. There is already a whole host of 3rd party software which can now be used to output control commands to Hippotizer. You will be seeing more and more devices and software supporting this new protocol over the coming months but maybe you saw it here first! OSC is currently being used in conjunction with PinBridge for many of our interactive projects.
