Post Gefen with a new cat5 BOX
The new HDMI v1.3 CAT-5 ELR (Extra Long Range) extender from Gefen uses small sender and receiver units connected by just one standard CAT-5 cable to deliver high definition video, audio and Ethernet signals up to 330 feet (100m). This distance is nearly double the length that CAT-5 cable was able to carry hi-def signals, giving installers a desirable and cost-effective alternative to fiber optic cable runs.
Hi-def resolutions up to 1080p/60 full HD supporting deep color, lip sync and 8.1 digital audio with Dolby TrueHD and DTS Master Audio are delivered instantly from the local source to the extended display.

The system’s sender unit connects to the source; the receiver unit connects to the display. One CAT-5 cable connects the sender to the receiver, and may be placed in conduit or run along the floor.

Sirs!

Please be aware of that this box is for HDMI!!!
HDMI to DVI adapters are available BUT... you might run into whatever HDCP kind of shit (flicker only, no signal).
HDCP = High-Bandwith Digital Content Protection
Also good to know is that many products out on the market are not HDCP compatible, this means that
you will not be able to get the signal to work as you expect, Folsom ImagePro for an example is not
HDCP compatible unless there is some new update of it...
So, if you want to play safe, use DVI, dont mix in HDMI that is intended for home use.

As long as you know how DVI works and you are capable of keeping control over that signal,
stay with it. With HDMI you will also see that your graphics card wants to update itself to send out
audio and so on, this will change your default audio settings, mess up your gfx card settings and most
likely at least one time cause an engine crash..that is just fine if you know about it :D
